Since last post, Auðunn showed us around and we had a blast, but alas, he left Saturday evening so we had to entertain ourselves on Sunday without him. Luckily for us, Óskar from my office wanted to hang out with us (or at least he didn't decline the invitation :Þ) and so we set off to have a great time.
First on our list was to drive back to Húsavík where they were having the candy festival. The word the Húsavíkonians use for candy is Mæra, which is different from any other place in Iceland. Our first stop in Húsavík was the Phallological Museum...aka the Penis Museum. They had a large collection of whale penises, along with deer, horses, and other mammals. No human specimens yet, although there are 3 people who will donate theirs once they die.
Self explanatory.
I wanna say humpback whale, but I don't remember.
A lot of jars, with different species.
In case you can't see it: "Flavoured with salt, sage, basil, thyme, dill, nutmeg, rosemary, oregano, and marjoram." Too many spices to say the least.
The girls with the store owner. We also saw a motorcycle exhibition and scored some free hot dogs. :)
Chilling on the back of the truck and fueling up.
Óskar really want a motorcycle. Our next destination was Ásbyrgi, which is a rock formation shaped like a horseshoe. The legend is that it was formed when Odin's horse touched the ground with one of his eight hooves. After that we went to Dettifoss, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Here are pics of our time in these two places:
Another cover for Tour Iceland.
Posing by the pond and surrounded by the horseshoe formation.

Skari and Cash sporting the black and white look, without even knowing.
One side of the horseshoe formation.
Cynth with her rock climbing...again. :Þ
She will eat you alive.
Other awesome rock formations.
So green and beautiful. I wouldn't mind camping here for a couple of weeks.
Dettifoss. It really is powerful.
Downstream, after the waterfall.
Jenn and I reclining and watching the clouds.
Óskar staring off into the waterfall and thinking of regal things. I love this photograph. It was taken with Cynth's camera, unfortunately, mine doesn't do cool color things.
This is as artistic as my camera gets. But it's still a good picture since Óskar is a great model and he's not even posing. All 100% natural Icelander. And he's single...not the best dancer, but he can cook.
Cynth enjoying the waterfall.
Up river. I feel like a giant.
Jenn is happy to be here.
Óskar and Cynth calculating the speed of the water at the bottom assuming 53% humidity.
My shoes dangling on the cliff.
Mud pie anyone?
Mischievous Óskar throwing mud at the hungry Mexican.Upon leaving Dettifoss, we lost Cash for a while, so in the meantime I practiced my driving skills on the big Mannvit truck (not pictured, sadly).
Next post will have the second part of this day with Óskar. :Þ
